FOR NON-EMERGENCY CALL 903-887-8500
Animal Control, housed under the Mabank Police Department, works to enforce all city ordinances pertaining to the care of animals within the city limits. Concerns of animal abuse, loose animals, or any other animal concern may be reported 24 hours a day by contacting the dispatch office at (903) 887-8500.
If you have lost a pet, please contact the dispatch office to check if Animal Control has impounded the animal. If the animal has not been impounded, we will take the information to have a record in case someone calls to report a found animal. You may also call if you have found an animal and want them picked up for impoundment.
The Animal Control Department uses the city holding pens for 3 days before they are transported to the Humane Society of North Texas located at 1904 E. US Highway 175, Kaufman, TX 75142. You may contact the Humane Society at (469) 376-4120 or email: kaufman@hsnt.org.
Animal Control also has a limited amount of live animal traps available for assisting residents who need them. You may request one by leaving your contact information with dispatch at (903) 887-8500. The Animal Control officer will contact you and let you know if one is available and when it can be delivered to you.
